Question: Affordable spring break trips within driving distance from o'hare area.?

We thought about Wisconsin Dells, Lake Geneva. We want something that our three kids would love and at the same time we could have a good dinner or a little something for us at night, (with the kids - bowling - movies - etc.). The Smokey Mountains even crossed my mind, but is it outrageously priced? It's 6 weeks away and need to decide...anyone have a good suggestion??? |

Besides the WI Dells (which is a great idea), you could also take your spring break in St. Louis or Minneapolis/ St. Paul. St. Louis has some great attractions the whole family would enjoy, as well as good restaurants and entertainment. The St. Louis Arch, St. Louis Zoo, and LaClade's Landing are some of my favorites in St. Louis. LaClede's Landing has some great shopping and restaurants. For more information: stlouisattractions.com Minneapolis/ St. Paul area has the Minnesota Zoo and Como Zoo, as well as the Mall of America in Bloomington. I've been to the Mall of America, and they have some fun rides and attractions for kids. They have an aquarium, waterpark, LEGO, Nickelodeon Universe, miniature golf, carousel, roller coaster, and much more. minneapolis.com |

It will be a little to cold to fully enjoy the Dells for spring break, summer time I would go there its lots of fun huge water parks. You could check into Great America and Gurnee Mill??? Otherwise not much going on besides going to downtown Chicago. There you have all the museums, navy pier, american girl store, tons of stuff. |

How about the Kalahari Indoor Water Park at the Wisconsin Dells. It is huge and they have several restaurants inside the place. You can go for a few days and never have to step outside. There is a movie theatre close too.We are taking our kids to Springfield for a dose of history and some fun too. |
